Alright, fine! I’ll write a travel blog!

Since 2015, I’ve been emailing friends and family whenever I’ve gone off to some distant part of the world by myself. What started as a nightly check in, “I’m still alive. Here’s what I did today. Here’s where I’ll be tomorrow,” evolved from sentences, to multiple paragraphs, into full on stories featuring the highlights of the day in writing and photography.

Needless to say, the occasional comment of, “You should write a travel blog!” grew to a cacophony.

But why? Why write a travel blog? Weren’t there enough? Ones with so-called and self-professed ‘professional bloggers’ who made a living (or spent all their free time) traveling around? Any niche I could possibly address had already filled by dozens if not hundreds of well established blogs; budget, solo female, scifi/fantasy, living out of a single bag, what did the world want with one more?

And yet, here I am. Writing my first-ever blog post.

Maybe it’s a way of sharing those past journeys with new friends. Maybe it’s a record of where I went and what I did. And maybe somebody somewhere will happen to click on one of my posts and it will end up making their day a little brighter or their travels a little better. If that can happen, I think this will be worth it.

So check out my blog! See where I’ve been and what I’ve done. Geek out with me over old and new fandoms. Learn from my successes and even more from my mistakes. There are buttons on the homepage leading to all three options, and you can always use the search bar if you’re looking for something specific.

Click around! I hope you enjoy exploring.
